Do I need something like SoundFlower to work around this? My TV doesn't seem to have such an option.Įven so, you would think that MacOS would still allow you to control the main volume by adjusting what it sends over HDMI. I wasn't necessarily expecting the normal Mac system volume to work correctly out of the box, but I thought there might be some way for an HDMI-connected monitor to allow the computer to control the volume through some kind of configuration option. Works great and love it, but the only way I can adjust the volume is by doing so on the TV itself. I've got a Sony X800H TV connected over HDMI to an M1 Mac Mini. Anyone know of a way to trick the Mac Mini into recognizing the volume control of an HDMI monitor and allowing the volume to be adjusted in the normal manner (keyboard keys F11/F12 and system volume control)?
